Welcome to the online home of the Trans-European Drug Information project.

Drug checking is the term given to the analysis of drugs before consumption to screen for adulterants or mis-sold substances. It aims to empower drug users to make positive choices to reduce the risks involved with drug use and hopefully even save lives.

Techniques include simple reagent testing, which is incredibly cheap but not always reliable, all the way through to laboratory GC/MS, which gives an extremely accurate portrayal of the contents of a sample.

TEDI is a network of European drug checking services that share expertise and data within a European monitoring and information system. By sharing data we can track drug trends across Europe and issue warnings before batches are able to propagate. Most of the members use high accuracy chromatography techniques to ensure reliability of the published data.
